Metal body (stainless steel, alloy steel): Under standard operating conditions (normal temperature and pressure), the mechanical structure can last 10–20 years; surface plating can further extend corrosion resistance.
Ductile iron/epoxy-lined models: When used in municipal water supply and drainage, the service life is double that of standard cast iron models, reaching over 15 years.
PVC-U/PPR plastic models: In residential low-pressure water transport applications, the design service life is typically 50 years.
Rubber sealing components (FKM, EPDM): Industry standards mandate a shelf life of ≥40 months for sealing rings; in actual use, they require periodic replacement every 2–5 years.
Industry standards and mating durability
For pneumatic and hydraulic double-socket connectors, the spring fatigue life is required by industry standards to withstand ≥30,000 mating cycles; high-end brand products can far exceed this benchmark.
Industrial-grade heavy-duty models utilize beryllium-copper alloy contact springs and gold plating thicker than 3μm, achieving a mating lifespan of over 50,000 cycles-far surpassing the 500–1,000 cycle range typical of standard consumer-grade connectors.
