Double Socket Pipe Connector

The Double Socket Pipe Connector is our standard product for socket-type connections. Both ends are socket (bell) ends. You insert one pipe into each end. The pre-installed EPDM sealing rings in both sockets create the seal. This connector is simple, reliable, and allows some angular deflection. It is widely used in new pipeline projects.

Each socket has an EPDM sealing ring and a limit stop. Insert the pipe end until it hits the limit stop. The sealing ring compresses between the pipe OD and the socket ID. The socket has a tapered lead-in for easy pipe insertion. The taper also creates a self-energizing effect. When the pipe tries to pull out, the taper forces the seal tighter. The connector works with ductile iron, steel, and PE pipes. No welding and no flanges are needed.
